Artavan Village

Artavan is a small village in Vayats dzor province in Armenia. Due to its rich biodiversity and historical-cultural heritage it has a high tourism potential, but it remains unknown as ecotourism destination. These are the main reasons why Artavan has been selected as the site for the project “Protection of the mountain and steep landscapes of Vayots Dzor region through eco-tourism development”. The main objective of the project is conservation of Vayots Dzor mountain steppe landscapes through the development of ecotourism and community involvement in environmental activities.
