Project Overview

PlantoGo is a mobile application aiming to make the travel planning easier and less complicated.
The development of this project started from a research that explored the post pandemic traveling.
The research showed that traveling was already hard to plan even before the pandemic, but it became even more complicated and harder due to different new COVID related regulations.

Design process

For this project the Double Diamond design process was used.

This model has four stages:
Discovery
Definition
Development
Delivery

The Double Diamond method highlights the contrast between the divergent thinking and the convergent thinking approaches.

Discovery

As part of the Discovery stage a survey and interviews were conveyed to gather qualitative and quantitative information from users.
This research phase helped us gather basic insight into the problem and empathize with the users.
Based on the data collected an affinity map was created to help us visually cluster the information.

Definition

Personas help designers to create understanding and empathy with the end-users. Thanks to personas designers can gain a perspective similar to the user. Creating user personas can help designers step out of themselves and recognize that different people have different needs and expectations. Main personas for this project were Jacob and Mary.
User journey is a path a user may take to reach their goal. User journeys are used in to identify the different ways to enable the user to achieve their goal as quickly and easily as possible.

Development

The Development stage started with a user flow, which lays out the user's movement through the application, mapping out each and every step the user takes—from entry point right through to the final interaction.
‍User flow can also show you the solutions for the problem found in the previous stages.
The next step in Development stage is creating low fidelity wireframes.
These basic wireframes act as blueprints for app screens.

Delivery

The final stage is Delivery where high fidelity wireframes are created using Figma.
These wireframes capture the look and feel of the product in the advanced stages of the design process.
